Subodh Agarwal IAS Contribution to the Successful Return of Stranded Overseas Migrants


The COVID-19 pandemic created big problems, especially for millions of migrants who were stuck far away from their homes. In India, Rajasthan became known for handling this situation efficiently and with care. Leading this important effort was IAS Subodh Agarwal, who was chosen by the Rajasthan government to head the committee responsible for bringing back Indian citizens to Rajasthan safely.


As COVID-19 spread worldwide, many countries shut down travel and imposed strict lockdowns. This left many Rajasthani citizens stranded in different parts of the world. The Rajasthan government, with Subodh Agarwal at the forefront, quickly took action to solve this problem.
