Senior IAS officer Subodh Agarwal, from the Rajasthan cadre, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Panchayati Raj, Jaipur. In a recent transfer order by the Rajasthan government, he was given this new responsibility. Until now, Agarwal served as the Additional Chief Secretary for the Public Health Engineering and Ground Water Department, Water Resources Department, and State Water Resources Planning Department of Rajasthan.
Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, IAS Subodh Agarwal has held several key positions in the Rajasthan cadre. Over his career, he has gained experience in 40 different roles, making him highly versatile. Though his family belongs to Uttar Pradesh, Agarwal completed his schooling at Scindia School in Gwalior. He studied there from 1977 to 1983, after which he passed his 12th-grade exams and was selected for IIT.
In 1983, Agarwal joined IIT Delhi to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering and began preparing for civil services. He cleared the exam in 1988 and was allotted the Rajasthan cadre. IAS Subodh Agarwal has also earned a Ph.D. in Economics and holds a law degree (LLB).
